Good: joining a credit union with a ton of free services and high yields on their checking/savings accounts.
Sucky: having to pay an additional $1000 in car repairs. As in, we paid $800 on the Ford… this is for the Toyota.
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
At least it’s all done. I’m ready for this to be over with. As soon as I can get my hands on the title, we’re selling the Ford (which has a surprisingly high market value) and joining FlexCar to cover my need to be able to drive occasionally.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled and hopefully less frustrating Monday…

I lurve credit unions. My grandfather opened up an account for me before he died, and I still have it. They gave me a 4.9% interest rate on a car loan when only one other bank was willing to give me a loan at 9.9%. That car loan enabled me to buy a home, so I really enjoy credit unions (and my grandfather, who clearly had the foresight to know it was a good move).
I love the idea of FlexCar. Way to be socially responsible!
That was so cool that he did that for you!
BECU has stupendous rates and free services as well, so I am stoked. It will save us money in a plethora of ways.
And thanks re: FlexCar. Sure as hell makes sense- and it will be cheap to use, given their new rates. It just all makes sense to do it this way.
FlexCar. AWESOME.
Hmm, Flexcar. The idea suddenly sounds so attractive to me. Perhaps it’s because I’m paying quite a bit for my monthly car payment…
I have BECU too and though their CS wasn’t very nice, they do have great rates!
I love my credit union. It’s run more like a business than a bank. That’s a good thing in my eye.
I miss the credit union we had in TX, dealing with a bank here, for now.
Never heard of FlexCar before, but it sounds like a great idea if it fits your needs.
