I had no idea there was a calling to do this sort of work:
“It’s challenging,” Turnage said. “You’ve got to be very dedicated and have a high tolerance for heat. You almost have to have a calling from the Lord to do this type of work.”
–Steven Turnage, a man who dresses as a chicken to promote an unnamed fast food joint
Is there a prep school, even a seminary, for those who feel compelled by God to be costumed mascots for the processed-food, cholesterorol factories known as fast food chains? I can almost hear the evangelism such a school would espouse.
“And remember, the Bible says ‘I shall fear no evil, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death’! So too shall you, called by the Lord as you are, not fear bottle rockets, extreme heat, or ridicule! You will turn the others cheek -or beak, or muzzle, what have you- when other launch objects in your righteous path. You will love thy neighbor, even if he is a rival mascot. You will speak the Word, and emphasize the virtues of Biggie Sizing and 2 for 1 specials…”
I should call my old guidance counselor up and see what she’s telling the kids these days about this wonderful career choice.

I usually like to say something of value when I leave a comment; perhaps a witty observation that further supports your statement or maybe even just some mention of current, useful events. But, today, I have nothing. Sometimes I just feel compelled to let someone know they are really funny. ‘Cause I know I like it when people say that to me. Soo, yeah…you are really funny. Sometimes my intellect is staggering.
