We’ll take a break from my regularly-scheduled whinging to talk about something that really matters: football.
I have three teams I root for consistently, and a few I enjoy for their legacies/history in the NFL. The teams I actively root for:
-Seattle Seahawks
-New Orleans Saints
-Cleveland Browns
The teams I root for but whose records don’t make or break me:
-San Diego Chargers
-Green Bay Packers
-Tennessee Titans
-Indianapolis Colts
Right now, the Saints are the only team making a mark in the league. Seattle is, let’s face it, in rebuild mode. Although this is blasphemy, I think we need to jettison Walter Jones, Rob Sims, and some other other oft-injured backs. I also think we must, must, MUST draft a franchise QB in the 2010 draft.
Cleveland… god, Cleveland. I think it’s about time to chuck it all AGAIN and start over. Begin with Lerner- he may care about this franchise, but dammit. You need to get a decent coach, drop Braylon Edwards, and give Brady Quinn an O-line that can protect him.
And the Saints… wow, Drew Brees. That’s a field general, right there.
My honey just delivered a plate of caprese for lunch. Outta here!
You already know that I share your Saints love. Today’s win wasn’t pretty, but I’ll take it. Brees is THE MAN!!
Pretty it was not. AWESOME, yes it was! They have a great team this year. I think they’ve got the NFC South down to them and Atlanta. Should be interesting to watch.
Green bay? Really? It pains us…but ok, since the browns have OSU Alum Derek Anderson.
JMc, they have a couple players I like and there is that amazing, lengthy history. Don’t worry, I root against them when I need to.
